Drupal vs Wordpress
Role: UX Designer, Visual Designer
Materials: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe XD
Duration: 3 months
Clear Digital (previously known as WebEnertia) is a digital agency that delivers web and brand experiences to B2B companies. Integrated CMS, or content management systems, are an integral part of the web experience. Drupal and WordPress are two of the biggest CMS platforms used across these platforms. They both have their weaknesses and strengths, so many people struggle with deciding which one would be the best for them. The Clear Digital development team has created a tool where people can pick and choose what they value and desire most in their CMS experience. The end result is the user's preferred option, along with a report explaining the reasoning behind the result. I was tasked with creating the landing page for this tool while keeping SEO in mind to establish this tool at the top of Google searches.
Roadmapping
In order to create an optimized schedule and timeframe, the team and I conducted several 'roadmapping sessions.' During these sessions, we visualized all the project components to break them down into manageable elements for easy organization. We recorded each of the different steps, estimated hours, and any potential roadblocks, and then placed them on the board to ensure we considered everything.
UX & Wireframes
I went through approximately two rounds of wireframing. Initially, I designed it as a simple product page, with the tool as the 'product.' After the first round, I realized the need to add more sections and expand the content to highlight various aspects of the tool and its importance. The primary goal is to encourage users to access the tool, so there are multiple CTAs throughout the page, making it easy for someone to reach it.
Final Design
After a branding meeting, it was decided that we would use the old Clear Digital/WebEnertia branding for the landing page. The tool incorporated the WebEnertia green, making it the primary color of the landing page.
Numerous changes were made compared to the original design, including adjustments in size and the number of blades. However, the most significant change was the addition of numerous monster characters on the page. This was done to create a more inviting and enjoyable experience for users and to guide them toward the tool.
